MAN FATALLY STABBED IN DISPUTE – TEEN BEING SOUGHT BY POLICE
A man was fatally stabbed during a dispute with a 16-year-old youth at Rose Heights, Montego Bay yesterday. The teen is being sought by the police.
The dead man has been identified as 22 year-old Ricardo Smith of Branch Hall, Rose Heights.
Reports received by the CCN are that about 5:30 p.m., Smith and the teen were in the community when an argument developed between them. During the dispute, the teen reportedly used a knife to stab him then fled the scene. Smith was taken to the Cornwall Regional Hospital where he died whilst being treated.
The Montego Bay CIB is investigating.
WIFE CHOPPED TO DEATH BY HUSBAND MANCHESTER -HUSBAND ON THE RUN
Fifty-eight year-old Doreen Roach was chopped to death during a dispute with her 55-year-old husband at their home at Denham Farm district, Christiana, Manchester yesterday.
The CCN is reporting that about 1:30 p.m., Mrs. Roach and her husband were at home when an argument developed. During a heated exchange, Mr. Roach reportedly used a machete to chop her several times then fled. She was taken to the Percy Junior Hospital by residents where she was pronounced dead.
The Christiana Police who are investigating is asking Sylvester Roach to turn himself in for questioning in relation to the murder of his wife.
POLICE INVESTIGATE MAN’S DEATH
The Major Investigations Task Force (MIT) has commenced a probe into the gun murder of a 23 year-old man by unknown assailant/s at University Road, Kingston 7 last night.
Dead is Carrie Kelly, 23, of August Town Road, Kingston 7.
Reports received by the CCN are that about 7:55 p.m., Kelly was walking along University Road when he was pounced upon by unknown assailant/s who shot him. He was taken to the Kingston Public Hospital where he died while being treated.
Investigation continues.
ELDERLY MAN DIES AFTER BEING HIT BY CAR
A 86-year-old man died after he was hit from the bicycle he was riding along the Strathbogie Main Road in Westmoreland yesterday.
Dead is Cecil Suckram, Farmer of Pines Corner in the parish.
The CCN is reporting that about 2:50 p.m., Mr. Suckram was riding his bicycle along the Strathbogie Main Road, towards Bath. On reaching a section of the roadway he was hit from his bicycle by a motor car traveling in the same direction. He sustained injuries and was taken to the Savana-la-mar Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The Savana-la-mar Traffic Department is investigating.

POLICE SIFT FOR CLUES TO SOLVE HOMICIDE AT CALABAR MEWS
Detectives attached to the Constant Spring Police Station are sifting for clues to solve the murder of a 61-year-old man who was found dead at his home at Calabar Mews, Kingston 20 this morning.
The dead man has been identified as Jacob Thompson.
Information gleaned by the CCN is that about 10:15 a.m., relatives and friends went to Mr. Thompson’s home after several calls to his phone went unanswered. They forced opened the door to the house and found his body, with several wounds, in the living room. The police were alerted and on their arrival, the crime scene was processed and the body removed to the morgue for post mortem.
Two blood stained wooden statues and a broken knife, suspected to be the murder weapons, were found beside the body. They were seized and sent to the Government Forensic Laboratory for testing.
Investigation continues.
BODY OF UNIDENTIFIED MAN FOUND IN WEST KINGSTON
The body of an unidentified man, believed to be in the late 20s, was found at Felix Fox Boulevard, Kingston 14 this morning.
It is of dark complexion, medium build and about 165 centimetres (5 feet 5 inches) long. The body was clad in blue jeans pants only.
The Constabulary Communication Network is reporting that about 7:00 a.m., residents heard explosions and called the police. Investigators who went to the area found the body with gunshot wounds. They processed the crime scene and the body was removed to the morgue for post mortem and identification.
The Denham Town CIB is investigating.
MAN CHARGED FOR ILLEGAL FIREARM
Thirty-seven year-old Desmond Anderson, otherwise called ‘Ratty’ of First Avenue, Vineyard Town was arrested and charged after an illegal weapon was found at his premises this morning.
Reports received by the CCN are that between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m., members of the Joint Task Force carried out an operation in the Vineyard Town community. During the exercise, officers searched Anderson’s house and found a 30 calibre M14 rifle – serial number 3396035 – and one hundred and seventy-two 5.56 cartridges, used in M16 rifles. He was taken into custody and subsequently charged.
The Joint Task Force is investigating.
