MEN KILLED IN SEPARATE INCIDENTS IN ST. JAMES

Twenty-five year-old Daryl Simpson of Salt Spring and twenty-six year-old Liston Dodd of Garlands, both in St. James, were shot dead by unknown assailant/s in separate incidents in the parish yesterday.

Reports are that about 1:00 p.m., residents of Dun Lane in Salt Spring heard explosions and called the police. When officers arrived they found Simpson’s bullet-riddled body on the roadway. The lawmen processed the crime scene and the body was removed to the morgue.

Approximately an hour later, a passerby saw Dodd’s body on the Catadupa main road and called the police. It was examined by investigators who went to the area and found to have several gunshot wounds. The body was removed to the morgue.

The incidents are being investigated by the Montego Bay and Spring Mount CIBs respectively.

TAXI OPERATOR SHOT AND KILLED AT RED HILLS ROAD

Thirty-six year-old George Brown otherwise called “Show Show”, a taxi operator of Blackwood Terrace, Kingston 19 was shot and killed by gunmen at Red Hills Road, Kingston 19 yesterday.

Reports are that about 12:45 p.m., Brown was standing in a business establishment in the area when he was approached by two men armed with guns. They immediately opened fire hitting him several times before escaping. Brown ran and collapsed on the roadway where he died.

The Constant Spring CIB is investigating.


PARAPLEGIC SHOT AND KILLED IN WESTMORELAND

Twenty-year-old Cherado Gooden otherwise called “Ackee”, a paraplegic of Logwood district in Westmoreland, was shot and killed by a gunman at his home last night.

Reports are that about 11:10 p.m., Gooden was at home when a man armed with a gun entered his room. The gunman opened fire hitting the disabled man several times before escaping in the area. Gooden died on the spot. The police were alerted, the crime scene processed and his body removed to the morgue.

The Savanna-la-Mar CIB is investigating.

FIREARM SEIZED AT MOUNTAIN VIEW AVENUE

The Elletson Road Police in East St. Andrew seized an illegal gun at ‘Back Bush’, Mountain View Avenue, Kingston 3 yesterday. No one was arrested.

Reports are that about 11:30 a.m., a team of police carried out an operation in the community. During the exercise, a Lorcin .380 semi-automatic pistol was found at one of the premises searched.

Investigation continues.
