BSI PROBES FATAL SHOOTING OF MAN AT MANNINGS HILL ROAD
The Bureau of Special Investigations has commenced a probe into the fatal shooting of a 27 year-old man during a shoot-out between police and gunmen at Mannings Hill Road, vicinity “Big Yard Lane”, Kingston 8 yesterday.
Dead is Dwayne Pitter otherwise called “Cokey” of Richmond Crescent, Kingston 10.
Information received by the CCN is that about 5:00 a.m., two off duty police officers were walking in the community when they came under gunfire by a group of men in the vicinity of “Big Yard Lane”. During an exchange of gunfire, one of the gunmen was hit; he and his cronies escaped in the area.
Shortly after the incident, the police were summoned to the University Hospital of the West Indies where a man had turned up with gunshot wounds and pronounced dead. He was identified as one of the men who had opened gunfire at the police earlier at “Big Yard Lane”.
WOMAN STABBED TO DEATH AT MAVIS BANK
A 23-year-old woman of Top Road, Mavis Bank, St. Andrew was stabbed to death by unknown assailant/s at her home yesterday.
Dead is Selene Moore.
Reports received by the CCN are that about 6:30 p.m., a resident heard screams coming from Moore’s room and called the police. Investigators, who responded, found her body with several stab wounds. The officers processed the crime scene and Moore’s body was removed to the morgue.
The Constant Spring Police are investigating.
MAN STABBED TO DEATH – ALLEGED ATTACKER ARRESTED
A 35-year-old man was stabbed to death at Lower Williams Street, Port Antonio, Portland last night. His 20-year-old alleged attacker has since been arrested.
Dead is Adolphus Chambers of Prospect Land in the parish.
Reports from the CCN’s Liaison Officer for Portland are that about 10:35 p.m., both men were involved in an altercation which had started earlier in the evening. During the dispute the 20-year-old was allegedly struck with a stone and a knife was used to stab Chambers. Chambers ran to the nearby Port Antonio Police Station and was taken to hospital where he died while undergoing treatment. The other man, who also sought medical attention, was taken into police custody.
The Port Antonio Police are investigating.
TEEN SHOT DEAD IN ST. CATHERINE
Eighteen-year-old Alex Douglas of Angel Court Drive, St. Catherine was shot dead by gunmen at Hanover Street in the parish yesterday.
The CCN’s Liaison Officer for St. Catherine North is reporting that about 1:45 p.m., Douglas was standing in a yard when gunmen attacked and shot him. He died on the spot. The crime scene was processed by police officers and the body removed to the morgue for postmortem.
The Spanish Town Police are investigating.

GIRL’S BODY FOUND
The body of 16-year-old D-Andrea Ebanks of Hill Top district, St. Elizabeth was found in the community yesterday.
Reports received by the CCN are that 8:45 a.m., Ebanks’ body was found with multiple stab wounds on a dirt track near her home. The police were summoned and they responded and processed the crime scene. The body was removed to the morgue for post mortem.
The Black River CIB is investigating.
CHILD DIES IN FIRE
An eight-year-old boy was burnt to death in a fire which destroyed ten houses at Bell Rock, Kingston 11 yesterday.
Dead is Shaveen Cleary of Bell Rock.
The CCN is reporting that about 1:00 p.m., Cleary and another minor were at home when fire was seen coming from a room. The house was quickly engulfed and the flames spread to the other adjoining dwellings. The police and fire brigade were summoned and three units from the Trench Town and York Park Fire department carried out cooling down operations. Cleary’s charred remains were later found in the rubble and removed to the morgue for post mortem. The other child escaped injuries.
The Hunts Bay Police are investigating.

MAN SHOT DEAD IN CENTRAL VILLAGE
Forty-two year-old Anthony Campbell otherwise called “Old-house” of Central Village, St. Catherine was shot and killed by unknown assailants on Browns Lane in the community this morning.
Reports received by the CCN are that about 6:05 a.m., residents heard explosions and called the police. On arrival of the lawmen Campbell’s body was seen with multiple gunshot wounds on the roadway. The crime scene was processed and the body removed to the morgue for post mortem.
The St. Catherine South Homicide Unit is investigating.
MAN FATALLY SHOT DURING SHOOTOUT WITH COPS
A 21-year-old man was fatally shot during a shootout with police at Berwick Road, Kingston 11 this morning.
Dead is Oshane Gardner of Oliver Crescent, Kingston 13.
The CCN is reporting that about 7:45 a.m., the police were on patrol when they accosted Gardner along with two other men. They reportedly pulled guns and opened fire at the officers who returned the fire. Gardner was hit and a firearm fell from his hand. The other men escaped. The lawmen retrieved the weapon, a .38 revolver – serial number 819769 and took Gardner to the Kingston Public Hospital where he died while undergoing treatment.
The Bureau of Special Investigations is investigating.
MAN FOUND DEAD IN CHEDWIN GARDENS
The body of 25-year-old Shawn Anthony Gordon of Howard Avenue, White Water Meadows, St. Catherine was found at Hartland Boulevard, Chedwin Gardens in the parish this morning.
Information received by the CCN is that about 12:45 a.m., residents discovered the body in the front seat of a white Honda Civic motor car and alerted the police. Close inspection by investigators who went to the area revealed that it had several gunshot wounds. The scene was processed and the body removed to the morgue.
The St. Catherine North Homicide Unit is investigating.
CYCLIST HIT BY MOTOR CAR – DIES
A pedal cyclist died as a result of injures he sustained when he was hit by a motor car on Old Harbour Road, St. Catherine yesterday evening.
Dead is Dennis Nembhard, 60, of Cromorty Housing Scheme, Spanish Town.
Reports received by the CCN are that about 7:15 p.m., Nembhard was riding his bicycle along the roadway towards Cromorty when he was hit by a Toyota Corolla motor car. He sustained multiple injures and was taken to the Spanish Town Hospital where he died.
The Spanish Town Traffic Department is investigating.










police officers that drink alcohol when on duty need to be locked up them self . on vacation i observed police officer in uniforms at a party drinking beer ,drinking more beer than the party goers. after drinking about 4 beers each they all started acting like a drunken nut. wanted to arrest a man because he was looking at one of the officers. officer acted like he wanted to shot the man.
